A terminally ill young woman lies in a hospital bed as her friends try to bring her joy by reenacting scenes from Shahnameh, Persia’s great epic poem. These mythic stories bleed into reality, becoming allegories for life under an Islamic dictatorship where women are denied basic freedoms.

When the friends take her out for one final walk, they encounter the harsh presence of state authority.
