How People Got Fire

How People Got Fire is a lyrical animated short set in Carcross, within the Tagish First Nation. Blending myth and present-day life, the film follows Grandma Kay as she shares the story of how Crow brought fire to humanity. At the same time, we meet Tish, a thoughtful young girl drawn to the elder’s wisdom. As their connection deepens, past and present begin to intertwine. Gentle, reflective, and rich in cultural meaning, the film explores storytelling, identity, and the enduring power of tradition.
